Dialektgesang

 

Dialekt berührt und macht oft keine Umwege, Aussagen klar zu formulieren. Mancher Jazz oder Blues Standard wird daher von mir in monatelanger Arbeit so übersetzt, dass das ursprüngliche Reimschema und die Kernaussage erhalten bleiben, Ausdruck und soziale Wirklichkeit jedoch Wien widerspiegeln. Teilweise sind es aber auch selbst geschriebene Lieder, die ich im Dialekt singe. Auftritte gab es bisher im Filmcafé Wien, Zwe, Café Epicur und in der Machbar im Rahmen des Kburg Festival.

 

Viennese dialect

 

Dialect is often quite touching, personal and to the point. The fact that this is also valid for some Jazz and Blues Standards got me into translating these pieces into Viennese dialect. For each piece this usually takes several months since I keep the rhyming pattern and the message but change the expression and the social contextualisation to make it reflect the notion of what I perceive as „Vienna“. Sometimes I also write my own songs in Viennese dialect too.

So far stage performances in this genre took place at the Filmcafé Vienna, Zwe, Café Epicur and at the Machbar as part of the Kburg Festival.
