Alternative music
Skaltrian ist eine Band aus Wien und Salzburg, die auf Mittelevents und Mittelaltermärkten auftritt. Im November 2015 sang ich am Mittelalter Adventmarkt Traiskirchen live mit dieser Band. Bereits am 30. September 2015 war die Eigenkomposition der Band namens Engelskind auf Radio Helsinki in Graz zu hören, hier nun der Link:

Crackthefiresister& besteht als Projekt seit 2010. Auftritte gab es bereits zwei Mal beim Picture On Festival in Bildein, Burgenland und in Locations wie dem Luftbad in Wien.
Die Musik entsteht in diesem Projekt meist erst nach den Lyrics und wechselt darin, die Aussage zu unterstreichen oder einen Gegensatz dazu zu bilden. Quartvoicings, verminderte Akkorde, Dur-Ersetzungen und häufig ein Wechsel zwischen 4/4 und ¾ Takt sowie gelegentlich auch die Verwendung anderer Taktarten und ein verspielter Sound machen diese Musik aus.
Als Sängerin habe ich nicht nur Lyrics, sondern auch eine gewisse Vorstellung davon im Kopf, wie der Song klingen soll. Daher schreibe ich zur Gesangsmelodie auch eine Grundharmonisierung. Die Ausgestaltung der jeweiligen Instrumentallinie variiert je nachdem, wie der Instrumentalist diese gestaltet, wird aber beim Arrangieren einmal in Grundzügen festgelegt.

Crackthefiresister& started out as a project in 2010. Hitting the stage started out with gigs at the Picture On Festival (2010, 2012) and the project also played at locations like Luftbad Vienna. In this project the lyrics are written first and then the music is added.
The function of the music is either underlining the message of the lyrics or is building a sharp contrast to what is said. Quartvoicings, diminished chords, major chords supplementations and switches between 4/4 and ¾ beats as well as other beats used occasionally and a playful sound define the music. Concerning the idea of „genre“ the project is not straight forward but rather explores different elements found in funk, rock, pop and metal.
As a singer I do not only write the lyrics but have a certain sound in my mind. So I write the melody I am singing and basic chords. How the instruments are played is left to the instrumentalists mainly and is arranged roughly once but played according to what is felt good.
